Summer Holidays.. The school will be closing at 12.00pm on Wednesday June 30th for summer holidays. Re-opening 9.00am on Wednesday September 1st, 2010. Have a nice summer :-)

Student of the Year 2010.. This year the Student of the Year award was shared between Chantelle McDermott from Ms. Gahan's class and Danielle McCarton from Ms. Morris's class. Huge congratulations to both girls, and congratulations to all the sixth class pupils who 'graduated' from Scoil Aonghusa Senior on Monday June 27th! We wish them the best of luck next year in secondary school.

Confirmation 2010.. The best of luck to all the 6th class pupils who are very excited as they make final preparations for their Confirmation which will take place in St. Aengus's Church next Saturday June 12th 2010 at 11.00am.

Irish Dancing.. Parents are invited to the Irish Dancing Summer Show which has been scheduled to take place on Monday June 21st.

Chess.. Congratulations to the Scoil Aonghusa Senior chess team! They won the Tallaght Schools League on June 2nd 2010 by defeating a gallant St. Maelruan's team in a very tense and competitive final, making it three wins in a row in this tournament. Read the full report on our features page.

T.C.S. Pupil of the year.. Congratulations to staff member Ms. Faye and her daughter Rachel. Rachel, a former pupil of Scoil Aonghusa, was awarded Tallaght Community School Female Pupil of the Year 2010. Her mum and all the staff here at Scoil Aonghusa are very proud of her!! Congratulations aswell to Graeme Morrison, also a past pupil, who was awarded Tallaght Community School Male Pupil of the Year 2010.

Swimming Gala 2010.. has been scheduled for Friday, June 11th. 3rd and 4th classes will be in the pool at 9.20 am. 5th and 6th classes will be in the pool at 10.45 am.

Sports Day 2010.. has been re-scheduled for Thursday, June 17th. Events are set to begin at 9.30am.

Cake Sale/Coffee Morning.. The Parents' Association invites you to the annual Bring & Buy Cake Sale and Coffee Morning in the tiled hall of Scoil Aonghusa Junior on Thursday, June 3rd from 9.30am - 12 noon.

4th Class Sale Of Work.. Well done to Ms. Tully's fourth class who raised €527 in aid of Cancer Care West with their Sale of Work on April 28th. Many thanks to all who contributed items for the Sale of Work. Visit Fourth Class to view photos.

5th & 6th Class Sponsored Silence.. Well done also to Ms. Gahan's 5th & 6th class who raised €1,037 in aid of Dogs Trust with their three hour Sponsored Silence on April 23rd. Vist Fifth/Sixth Class to view photos. In addition, the Tallaght Echo will be at the school on Wednesday, May 19th to photograph the presentation of the cheque to Jillian Saunders, Education Officer of Dogs Trust. Keep an eye out in the Echo.
