A reminder of some important dates coming up in the school calendar:
Friday April 15 - Easter Holidays. Children go home at 12 noon.
Tuesday May 3 - School reopens after Easter Holidays at 9am sharp.
Wednesday May 4 - 6th class Transfer Programme.
Friday May 6 - 3rd & 4th class Swimming commences for 6 weeks.
Wednesday May 25 - Staff meeting. Pupils go home at 1.30pm.
Monday June 6 & Tuesday June 7 - School closed for June Bank Holiday.
Saturday June 11 - 6th class Confirmation.
Friday June 17 - Swimming gala.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE CROKE PARK AGREEMENT
Following important discussions involving the Department, the INTO and School Management in relation to particular aspects of the Croke Park agreement an additional time of one hour per week is provided for in the Agreement.
The teaching staff of Scoil Aonghusa Senior will work an additional hour from 2.40pm - 3.40pm every Monday, starting Monday February 7th 2011.
The pupils will go home at the usual time of 2.40pm. This additional hour will be spent on aspects of school business such as school planning, continuous professional development, induction, pre and post school supervision, policy development, staff meetings and inservice.

Scoil Aonghusa Senior will close for Christmas Holidays on Thursday 23rd December at 12.00 noon. The school will re-open on Monday 10th January at 9.00 am sharp.

WEATHER UPDATE

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this spell of bad weather. We experienced technical difficulties with our website and for some parents the text-a-parent messages did not get through. The latest news about school closures was posted on schooldays.ie and 98fm.com. Again we apologise that everyone did not hear from us.
Our website will be updated daily for the duration of the bad weather.
TOMORROW Thursday 9th December - The school WILL BE OPEN AT 10.00am. PLEASE WALK WITH CARE ON ANY ICY GROUND.
Breakfast Club will be available from 9.30am only - please do not arrive any earlier.

Sponsored Walk 2010..
This year's sponsored walk will take place on Thursday November 25 (weather permitting). All money raised will go towards our school funds to help provide modern educational equipment. The walk will take place through Tymon Park. Parents are very welcome to join us at the school or car park.
6th classes will depart the school at 9.30am
4th classes will depart the school at 9.30am
5th classes will depart the school at 10.00am
3th classes will depart the school at 10.00am
